Do we buy our own instrument?
We do have a rental program for violin and guitar to help you get started while you are looking to purchase an instrument.
How do I pay?
You can pay with cash or check. We recommend bringing your payment to the main office in person. Please make your check out to Christ Church SFA. In the “For” space, please put the name of your child. If you are the student, just write “Lessons” or Lessons + Registration” if applicable. What group lessons are offered?
Drums, Strings, and Adult/Children’s Art are offered in groups. Private drum and strings lessons are also available.
What is the pricing difference between group and private lessons?
Group lessons are priced at $15.00 per lesson. Private lessons are priced at $26.00 per 30 min. lesson. For a 16-week semester, totals are as follows:
Group lessons: $240.00 (plus $25 Registration Fee for the Fall: $265.00)
Private lessons: $416.00 (plus $25 Registration Fee for the Fall:
$441.00) We offer an optional two-part payment plan for 16-week semesters.
What kind of private lessons are offered?
Lessons offered can sometimes depend on the semester, but our current lessons by instruments are listed on our Home page and our Registration Forms. We offer lessons by 30 minutes (typical) – 45 minutes – 1 hour. Pricing increases for longer lessons.
Do you hold a recital?
Yes! We hold our recitals at the end of our Fall and Spring semesters. Dates and times are listed on the calendars in the main office. All students and family members welcome.
Can I sit in the lesson with my child?
Usually this is allowed, but it is advised to check with the teacher.
When I drop off my child for his/her lesson, what is the issue of safety?
Christ Church keeps most of our entrance doors locked during the day. During our hours of operation, staff is on site and the main office will be open. After operating hours, all doors are locked and unable to be opened unless by a staff member or someone authorized to carry a magnetic key fob. We have never had a safety issue.
What is Music Camp?
Music Camp is our annual summer camp for children entering grades 1 – 6. For three days, kids get to travel around in groups to “stations” where they get to learn about almost every instrument, participate in fun games, and get art lessons from our Graphic Arts Minister. We provide the instruments and no experience is necessary. At the end of the camp, each child will receive a t-shirt. Lunches are provided.
Is there a Facebook page I can follow for updates?
Yes! We update our Facebook page (Christ Church School of Fine Arts) regularly. And be sure to browse this website for more information as well!
